CAMP MAC STAFF

CAMP STAFF includes 18 Junior Counselors, 22 Senior Counselors and 12 Adult Directors each term. In order to develop qualified staff, Camp Mac conducts a Counselor-In-Training program which is limited to 8 boys and 8 girls each term. CITs must have completed the 9th grade and are evaluated during their last summer as campers by our Senior Staff based on leadership, dependability and attitude.

JUNIOR COUNSELORS
must have completed the 10th, 11th or 12th grade, and are carefully selected from the CIT program for their leadership, dependability and attitude and must also be qualified to assist in the instruction of a major activity.

SENIOR COUNSELORS, in addition to instructing major activities, live in a cabin with a JC, CIT, and 12 to16 campers. Senior Counselors must have completed two or more years of college and are selected for their experience with children in recreation and camping. Many Senior Counselors are former campers and counselors who have been with us for 10 years or more.

In order to meet each camper's daily needs and provide the special attention so important to a good camp program, Camp Mac maintains a camper to staff ratio of approximately 5 to 1.

IN OUR 2007 CAMP SEASON, OUR PROGRAM STAFF HAD 948 YEARS
OF CAMP MAC EXPERIENCE.
OUR 35 ADULT STAFF MEMBERS HAD AN AVERAGE AGE OF 32 YEARS.
